An Audience in Hiding was conceived of during my three-month residency in Dubai. Through multiple visits to the conference centre and mall I tried to explore the relationship between the architecture and its waves of visitors, who pour in for a variety of events throughout the year.
So, I gave precise instructions to a professional sports castor, asking him to describe the physical movements and appearances of a mesmerized crowd looking at art using footage of various art fairs. I also asked him to use the same tone he uses during the tennis matches.
