URSONATA IN ARABIC PRONUNCIATION
Ursonate in Arabic Pronunciation consists of a written Arabic translation to Kurt Schwitters' Ursonate, and follows the particular structure of the original piece. It is then read out loud in Arabic pronunciation.
In Schwitters' instructions on how to read his non-sensical Ursonate, he explains that it is to be pronounced in German; however, he also proposes that like printed music it can have multiple interpretations. Thus, the famous Dada text and audio, might sound to non-German speakers like actual German words. Based on this, I have attempted to create a similar sensation to non-Arabic speakers when reading and hearing my translation of the Schwitters' piece.
